Manor Lords: How to Make Money Through Trade

Market can provide a large amount of popular support for residential areas, but the market is fundamentally different from other buildings.

Players need to draw a place on the ground, but the market will not directly become a building. Instead, it automatically attracts nearby residents who are producing to come and set up stalls.

Additionally, the market needs to be adjacent to both residential and production areas to keep goods and trades flowing smoothly. It is recommended to consider the location of the market as our city center.

In the early stages, we need to first build a market that meets all the requirements of the fortress before moving on to the next trading phase.

If there are fruit picking huts near the market, food stands selling berries will appear. Selling animal skins requires a hunting camp. At this point, open the map to see where the animals are located and create a new road from the village to the animal gathering area.

Place the hunting camp near the animal gathering area, and don’t forget to arrange residents to work there in the building.

At this point, we enter the next phase, start looking at the locations of the two minerals on the map. With a bit of luck, you can basically see the locations of iron ore and clay on the map.

We need to build a mine directly above the mineral, then build a road leading to the village and arrange villagers to work there.

Open the building menu and select the trade option to build a trading post, then build a warehouse and a hitching post next to the trading post. Once all three buildings are constructed and the production of the traded ore begins steadily, it indicates that we have completed the prerequisite requirements.

Before starting formal trading, we also need to understand the pricing mechanism of a trading post. The trading post will decide whether an item is rising or falling based on how much we buy or sell the item. When we sell the same item in large quantities for a long time, the price of that item will gradually decrease, with two levels of decline—single arrow and double arrow. Conversely, when we continuously buy an item, the price of that item will gradually increase.

The prices of goods are calculated monthly. If you sell or buy the same item within the month, the price will not change.

Here is a brief description of the trading process:

If the item we want to sell is “bread,” we first need to spend 25 coins to open the bread trading route.

On the left side of the bread row, select “Full Trade” and decide the expected remaining quantity to be changed to 0.

Do not forget to click the Buy New Horse button on the trading post page every month to purchase new transport livestock, upgrade the hitching post to a small stable (as the hitching post can only hold one animal while the small stable can hold two—if you can’t upgrade yet, build another hitching post, as more animals increase transportation efficiency).

After waiting for one to two months, you will notice that the circle on the right side of the trading post money has turned into a downward pointer, indicating that the price of bread has decreased. In this case, continue selling bread.

When you notice in the second month that the price of bread has dropped to its lowest point, where you can buy one bread for 1 coin, change “Full Trade” on the left to “Import” and use all the money to buy low-priced bread. After waiting for several months, the price of bread will start to rise, and at this point, you can sell all your bread stock at a high price.

From there, the next steps are simple: continuously sell bread at normal prices without interruption. When the price of the item drops to the lowest red double-arrow 1 coin, change the expected quantity on the right to 999, switch the trade rule on the left to Import, and with a large amount of buying, the price of bread will rise accordingly, allowing you to sell all your remaining stock at a high price.

While waiting for the price adjustment of one item, do not remain idle, keep opening new trading routes, and repeat the process for each new route.

In the midst of trading, do not forget to develop the town, gain development points, and prioritize lighting up the “Trade Logistics” and “Priority Trade” on the right, where Priority Trade can help with importing and exporting at one price, making it a very useful skill.
