Manor Lords: How to complete the Reconstruction Peace achievement in difficult mode?

I have to say that the difficulty level is not consistent throughout the game. It starts off challenging, but once you have 500 gold coins in your personal treasury, the difficulty decreases significantly. With six understrength units of halberdiers and understrength retinue guards, the first wave of attacks from Baron AI becomes as insignificant as a tickle. In fact, the game becomes easier as you progress towards the later stages. The game exhibits a clear “Matthew Effect” where once you gain an advantage, it grows even larger over time.

At the end of the game, there are at least 100 inhabitants in each of the five regions, except for one region which failed and became a ghost town. The annual income from my treasury is around 2000-3000, with an influence score of 1800. I am asking you how it is possible to lose under these circumstances.

Here are some hidden settings that most players are unaware of:

  1. Trade posts need to be equipped with horses for workers to utilize carts efficiently (otherwise, workers may deliver goods on foot, one item at a time, while a cart can hold up to 40 items).
  2. Although trade posts can only have two horses attached, worker families can have four horses for trading.
  3. Long-term purchase of goods does not necessarily result in price increases (prices may even drop), and vice versa.
  4. If you have two villages in different regions and both have trade posts, and they are trading the same type of goods, Village A buys while Village B sells. At this time, there is a chance that workers from Village A will go to Village B for trade. This setting is quite annoying if your villages are diagonally placed, as your trade workers will have to traverse the entire map for trading, resulting in extremely low efficiency.
  5. To exchange goods between two villages, you only need to build one packaging station. Although packaging stations can only have mules attached, if there are nearby horses, the workers at the packaging station will ride horses for trading (a very interesting and hidden setting).
  6. Berries are the most profitable resource in the game because there is no option to sell them for zero currency. Therefore, berries with an annual production of more than 2000 are incredibly lucrative.
  7. Be cautious when selecting the hunting policy; your hunters may not be able to kill all the animals, and don’t forget to keep an eye on the fur inventory to avoid overstocking.
  8. Engaging in fights within the animal habitats will impact the animal yield.
  9. When establishing a new village in another region, be careful not to let the villagers’ morale drop too low, otherwise, the village may become a ghost town.
  10. If an NPC carriage loses its driver, it will permanently remain on the road (loading the saved file or restarting the game will not fix this issue).
  11. If you recruit six infantry units at the beginning and then disband them, those six infantry units will continue to exist (otherwise, retinue guards will occupy one slot).
  12. Even though tier 3 villagers only require four types of food, having a greater variety of food will provide a morale boost (the same applies to clothing).
  13. After building a brewery, there will be security penalties (low security makes it more likely for bandits and theft events to occur).
  14. If you engage enemies in combat outside the battle circle and ensure that the “Enter Battle” condition is not triggered throughout the entire combat process, the enemy will launch subsequent attacks on that location until the countdown reaches zero.
