Wuthering Waves: Echo System Explained

Part 1: Acquisition of Echo

After killing monsters in the great world, there is a chance to drop Echo.

Echo quality ranges from low to high, namely green-blue-purple-gold.

To obtain higher-quality Echo, we need to upgrade the Data Dock level.

Each level increase in the Data Dock improves the drop rate of Echo. Levels 1-4 only drop green Echoes.

Levels 5-7 drop blue Echoes, 8-14 drop purple Echoes.

Level 15 and above drop gold Echoes.

Data Dock level can be improved by collecting Echo illustrations.

When we obtain a different quality Echo for the first time, we gain Data Dock experience.

For example, when I first obtain a green Echo of Puffer Gugu in the game, I gain 10 Data Dock experience.

Subsequently, when I first obtain a blue Echo of Puffer Gugu, I gain another 10 Data Dock experience.

It’s worth noting that if we directly obtain a high-quality Echo for the first time, all previous low-quality collection rewards will be unlocked at once.

For example, if I haven’t obtained the first-time rewards for green, blue, and purple Puffer Gugu Echoes, but I directly obtain a gold Puffer Gugu Echo, then all previous green, blue, and purple experience rewards will be unlocked at once.

Part 2: Echo Equipment

Firstly, we need to understand a special system called the COST system.

In Mingchao, each Echo has its corresponding COST points.

BOSS-level monsters cost 4 points, elite monsters cost 3 points, and regular small monsters cost 1 point.

When characters equip Echoes, the total COST points of all five pieces cannot exceed 12 points.

This means we have two different equipment methods.

The first is 44111, which means equipping two different BOSS-level Echoes and three small monster Echoes. The total COST is 11 points.

The second is 43311, which means equipping one BOSS-level Echo, two elite Echoes, and two small monster Echoes. The total COST is 12 points.

Different equipment methods give our characters different attribute biases.

This is due to the different primary attributes.

A BOSS-level Echo with a COST of 4 must have one of the following primary attributes:

[Percentage Attack] [Critical Rate] [Critical Damage] [Percentage Health] [Percentage Defense] [Healing Effect Increase]

These six, plus the fixed secondary attribute: numerical attack power.

For a 3-point elite monster Echo, its primary attribute must be one of the following:

[Attribute Damage] [Percentage Attack] [Percentage Health] [Percentage Defense] [Resonance Efficiency]

These five, plus the fixed secondary attribute: numerical attack power.

As for a 1-point small monster Echo, the primary attribute must be one of the following:

[Percentage Attack] [Percentage Defense] [Percentage Health]

These three, plus the fixed secondary attribute: numerical health.

Naturally, by using the 44111 equipment method, our character can gain higher critical strike damage or healing effects.

And by using the 43311 equipment method, our character can gain higher attribute damage or ultimate energy effects.

There are also Echo set effects in Mingchao.

Currently, there are a total of 9 different sets in the game.

They are fire, thunder, wind, ice, light, and dark, which are six different attribute damage sets.

There are healing sets for healing characters.

There are damage boost sets for support characters.

And there are sets for speed-cutting play and skill cooldown reduction.

Part 3: Enhancement of Echo

Green-quality Echoes can only be upgraded to level 10, blue to level 15, purple to level 20, and gold to level 25.

The higher the level, the greater the gain of the main attribute.

And every multiple of 5 levels, that is, stages 5-10-15-20-25.

An additional consonant attribute can be unlocked.

The numerical value and effect of the consonant attribute are random.

The effects include: percentage attack, critical strike, critical damage, health, defense, numerical attack, critical healing, resonance efficiency, healing gain, basic attack damage, heavy attack damage, skill damage, ultimate damage.

Once unlocked, the consonant attribute cannot be changed.

So, obtaining a perfect graduation Echo is very difficult.
