Wuthering Waves: Yinlin Skill Introduction and Equipment Recommendation

Character Background

Yinlin used to be an excellent patrol officer of the Public Security Bureau, mature, reliable, and keeping her true capabilities hidden. She excelled at using all resources at her disposal to investigate crimes that others couldn’t touch. Although she seemed aloof, once you gained her enough trust, you would understand the strong and kind heart hidden beneath her glamorous exterior.

Character Strength

The strength of a character often greatly influences players’ willingness to draw them. Similar to ‘Ignis’ in the first version, ‘Yinlin’ is also very strong, even stronger than ‘Ignis.’ As the strongest sub-C in the current version, Yinlin’s excellent burst output and support abilities make her stand out among many other sub-C characters. It can be said that Yinlin’s skills and mechanisms elevate the strength of most main Cs to a new level.

Drawing Recommendations

  1. Experience Seekers (XP Seekers)

Yinlin’s character appearance and action skills have attracted many wandering players, so if you are an XP seeker and like this style of wandering character, you can go all out to draw Yinlin.

  1. Strength Seekers

    a. If there is a ‘Kararo’ in the wanderer’s team, then it is highly recommended to draw ‘Yinlin’.

Yinlin will greatly increase Kararo’s damage. Yinlin’s exit skill perfectly complements Kararo’s output mechanism, further filling the gap in Kararo’s damage during downtime.

If there is a Kararo in the team and the wandering player is concerned about Kararo’s damage, they can draw Yinlin.

(Note: If the wanderer has not drawn Kararo yet and currently does not lack a main C, it is not recommended for the wanderer to draw Kararo just for Yinlin, because with the continuous updates of the version, the future main C may become stronger. So, it’s better to wait a bit longer here.)

    b. If the wanderer’s team lacks a sub-C, ‘Yinlin’ is definitely the best choice.

Yinlin can be paired with most main Cs and provide damage buffs and backend damage for them.

    c. If the wanderer’s team lacks a main C, ‘Yinlin’ can also temporarily serve as the main C to provide assistance for the early transition.

Although Yinlin is a sub-C, her burst output can allow her to ‘temporarily take the stage’ as a main C.

However, please note that Yinlin’s positioning is more inclined to be a sub-C. In the late game, Yinlin’s sub-C abilities are maximized and she becomes an extremely useful support character, so it is recommended for wanderers who temporarily use Yinlin as the main C to restore Yinlin to the sub-C position after drawing the main C, so that Yinlin can better play her sub-C abilities.

[Currently, Yinlin with a full resonance chain is not particularly strong as a main C, so Yinlin is more suitable as a sub-C]

Character Evaluation

  1. Combat Characteristics and Mechanisms

    a. Combat Characteristics: While on the field, Yinlin has decent burst damage; when off the field, Yinlin can provide coordinated backend damage and damage buffs for the team.

    b. Combat Mechanisms:

Yinlin can charge up by attacking enemies with basic attacks, and her skills can also increase damage for teammates.

At the same time, Yinlin’s skills allow her to mark enemies after attacking them, and a charged heavy attack can deepen the mark, thereby dealing higher damage.

  2. Skill Analysis

    a. Normal Attack – Silk Blade Dance: [Attribute Bonus: Increases Critical Hit Rate by 4%]

A four-stage attack, a commonly used attack method in battle, can accumulate special energy for herself.

    b. Resonance Skill – Magnetic Roar: [Attribute Bonus: Increases Attack by 6%]

Divided into two stages, the first stage releases an AOE damage to enemies and strengthens her next 4 basic attacks.

The second stage releases another AOE damage to enemies, with increased damage if the enemies have previously been hit by basic attacks.

(Note: When the wanderer releases the second stage skill, the damage increase from the first stage skill will not be affected, so the wanderer can take advantage of this feature to release the second stage skill early)

    c. Resonance Liberation – Thunderous Annihilation: [Attribute Bonus: Increases Attack by 6%]

Deals continuous damage to enemies in 7 stages, with a considerable damage multiplier, which is the main source of Yinlin’s burst damage.

    d. Resonance Circuit – Thousand-Faced Phantom: [Unlocks Inherent Skill: Soaked Agony/Targeted Focus]

After hitting enemies with basic attacks and skills, they will be permanently marked with ‘Bound Mark.’ When enemies have the ‘Bound Mark,’ it enhances Yinlin’s skill damage.

Basic attacks and skills will charge the ‘Judgment Value,’ and when full, it can release a heavy hit called ‘Dry Phantom,’ which converts ‘Bound Mark’ into ‘Punishment Mark.’ Enemies with ‘Punishment Mark’ take damage and simultaneously strike lightning at all enemies with ‘Punishment Mark.’

(In short, Yinlin can mark enemies after attacking them, referred to as Mark A; when the charge bar is full, she can release a heavy hit that marks enemies with Mark B, and when any character attacks enemies with Mark B, all enemies with Mark B will receive equal damage)

    e. Variation Skill – Raging Thunderstorm: [Attribute Bonus: Increases Critical Hit Rate by 4%]

    f. Extension Skill – Electro Tactics

The next character to enter deals 20% more electric damage, and the Resonance Liberation deals 25% more damage.

Skill Upgrade Priority: Resonance Liberation > Resonance Circuit > Resonance Skill > Variation Skill > Normal Attack

  3. Weapon Selection
    • Puppeteer’s Hand (Five-star Special Weapon) > Clear Tone (Four-star weapon from the Radio Station Big Monthly Card) > Shugo Sound Sensor · Stay Bright (Three-star Transitional)
  4. Resonance Chain Recommendations

2-chain (increased backend damage, enhanced resonance loop), 6-chain (super large area chain damage).

  5. Voice Resonator Matching

    [43311] Sky Thunder’s Scale 5-piece set

Cloud Flash Scale + COST3 Any Voice Resonator + COST3 Any Voice Resonator + COST1 Any Voice Resonator + COST1 Any Voice Resonator

Main Attributes Recommendation: COST4: Critical Hit/Critical Damage, COST3: Electric Damage Increase, COST1: Attack

Sub-Attributes: Dual Critical Hit > Attack, Skill Damage Increase, Resonance Liberation Damage Increase are all viable.

    [44111] Sky Thunder’s Scale 2-piece set + Unending Echo’s 2-piece set (Beginner Transitional)

Cloud Flash Scale + Polymechanical Puppet + COST1 Any Voice Resonator + COST1 Any Voice Resonator + COST1 Any Voice Resonator

Main Attributes Recommendation: 2 COST4s: one for critical hit rate, one for critical damage (if you draw a special weapon, you can replace both COST4s with critical damage), COST1: Attack

Sub-Attributes: Dual Critical Hit > Attack, Skill Damage Increase, Resonance Liberation Damage Increase are all viable.

  6. Teaming Up

The main team formula is: Main C + Yinlin + Healer

    a. [Recommended] Team Composition 1: Calcharo + Yinlin + Verina (White Sesame can be used as a low-level substitute)

    b. [Transitional] Team Composition 2: Yuanwu + Yinlin + Verina (White Sesame can be used as a low-level substitute)

Note: When paired with ‘Calcharo,’ Yinlin is the sub-output; when paired with ‘Yuanwu,’ she is the main output.

  7. Combination Flow (Output Technique)

Combination flow is a set of combat techniques that can effectively utilize more characters in the output process within a unit of time, thereby greatly improving the team’s output efficiency in actual combat. It mainly involves reusing the downtime or idle time caused by long actions.

    Relevant Terms:

Q is the Voice Resonator skill, A is the Normal Attack, E is the Resonance Skill, Z is the Heavy Attack, R is the Resonance Liberation

QTE refers to the character’s variation skill, that is, the next character’s entry skill.

Taking the recommended team as an example:

    (1) Calcharo: Q E A E A E A Z

    (2) Verina: After QTE is full, Q

    (3) Yinlin: E A A A A A Z Q E R

    (4) Calcharo: Q R A (until the enhanced A from R is finished) E A E A E A Z

Continue with (2), and then start the loop.
