Wuthering Waves: Guide to Skill Point Allocation and Equipment Team Setup for Encore

Skill Introduction

Normal Attacks (Basic Attacks)

The description of Mèi Mèi’s “short press basic attack within a certain time” might seem complicated, but it’s as simple as tapping the basic attack button normally. It can be easily understood as the fifth stage of the basic attack.

(The basic attack animation shows a sheep doll descending from the sky.)

Wuthering Waves: Guide to Skill Point Allocation and Equipment Team Setup for Encore

Additionally, it can be seen that the multiplier for Mèi Mèi’s basic attack is very high, accounting for about one-third of the total damage of the five stages of basic attacks. Moreover, when the ultimate is not activated, only the fifth stage of the basic attack can increase Disorder Value, so in practical combat, Anke should try to complete all five stages when acting as the main C.

The mechanism of basic attacks is relatively simple and doesn’t need much elaboration. The only thing worth mentioning is that “Mèi Mèi” can switch characters as soon as the sheep doll appears in the sky, without waiting for it to land. Reasonable use of this can reduce the recovery time, making the output more flexible.

Resonance Skill (E Skill)

The E skill is divided into two parts. In the first part, Anke leaps into the air and shoots downwards (Heat Sheep Mèi Mèi).

The shooting can be interrupted by jumping or dashing.

After the shooting ends, click the E skill again to release the second part of the E skill (Warm Welcome).

The damage of the second part of E is relatively high, accounting for about one-third of the total damage of the E skill.

What is not mentioned in the skill description and character tutorial is that when the first part of the E skill ends, the second part of the E skill can also be released by using basic attacks, without the need to click the E skill again.

Another important technique not mentioned in the skill description and character tutorial is that during the shooting of the E skill, Anke can switch characters, and in combat, switching characters will not interrupt the shooting of the E skill. After switching characters, if Anke switches back to herself within the duration of the E skill, she can release the second part of the E skill normally. However, this requires a high speed of operation. If she fails to switch back to Anke when the shooting ends, the second part of E will be lost.

Resonance Loop

The skill introduction is quite long, but to put it simply, it refers to the fifth stage of basic attacks and the E skill when the ultimate is not activated. After activating the ultimate, all basic attacks and E skills can accumulate energy (the pink bar above the health bar). When the energy is full, Anke can release an Enhanced Strike. The damage of the Enhanced Strike after activating the ultimate is higher.

Anke can switch characters during the charging phase of the Enhanced Strike, and the Enhanced Strike can still be fully released (although there are very few cases where damage is lost, the reason is currently unclear).

Wuthering Waves: Guide to Skill Point Allocation and Equipment Team Setup for Encore

The damage of the Enhanced Strike is extremely high, but the pre-action time is too long. In actual combat, it can be canceled by switching characters to shorten the pre-action time.

Activating the ultimate can quickly accumulate energy, so it is recommended to release an Enhanced Strike to clear the energy bar before activating the ultimate, in order to quickly unleash the second Enhanced Strike.

Note: Regardless of whether the ultimate is activated or not, the Enhanced Strike belongs to Resonance Liberation damage and is not affected by the bonus damage of the Enhanced Strike.

Resonance Liberation (Ultimate)

After activating the ultimate, Enhanced Strike, basic attacks, and E skills are enhanced, causing increased damage. All basic attacks and E skills can accumulate Disorder Value (Enhanced Basic Energy) during the ultimate, and the cooldown of E skills is reduced. Switching characters during the duration of the ultimate will not end the ultimate early (constantly switching characters during the ultimate, making players of other heroes envious).

If the Enhanced E skill cooldown resets every time it turns good, in a ten-second duration of the ultimate, it can be released approximately three times. This can be used to roughly determine the end time of the ultimate.

The multiplier of the Enhanced Strike after activating the ultimate is very high, so please pay attention to the duration of the ultimate and release the Enhanced Strike with higher damage in time.

Variation Skills & Extension Skills (Entrance Skills & Exit Skills)

Anke’s entrance and exit skills can cause considerable damage, with a simple mechanism that doesn’t require much explanation. To add a few words for word count… (Scratched out)…

For the convenience of new players, let’s briefly explain the conditions for releasing character variation and extension skills.

Variation skills are entrance skills, while extension skills are exit skills.

You can see a red circle on the left side of the character’s health bar, called Resonance Energy.

Wuthering Waves: Guide to Skill Point Allocation and Equipment Team Setup for Encore

Once the energy is full, the character’s avatar in the top right corner will glow, indicating that switching characters (e.g., from character A to character B) will trigger both character A’s exit skill and character B’s entrance skill simultaneously.

Most character entrance skills deal damage, while exit skills have various effects (such as damage, healing, damage increase, etc.).

Recommended skill leveling order

Anke’s output ability is extremely strong after using the ultimate, but before that, resonance skills are the main means of output. Therefore, it is recommended to prioritize upgrading these two (with the ultimate slightly higher than the E skill), followed by basic attacks and the resonance loop, with variation skills being the lowest priority.

For the second and third rows of talents, prioritize the middle row. For the left and right sides, prioritize the Melting bonuses.

Resonance Liberation >= Resonance Skills > Basic Attacks = Resonance Loop > Middle row of talents > Variation Skills > Melting bonuses > Attack Power

Weapon Recommendations

Note: Due to lack of testing, the following recommendations have a strong subjective bias.

Everlasting Moonglow (Permanent five-star)
Difficulty of acquisition: Depends on individual luck and resources.

With attack power stats and passive increases to resonance efficiency and basic attack damage, this weapon is quite suitable for Anke, especially as the only five-star sound instrument weapon currently available, making it the top choice.

The downside is the lack of double crit, which may create pressure on the Melting side.

Eclipsing Light (Paid weapon available through radio station)
Difficulty of acquisition: Depends on personal financial resources.

With a crit rate stat, this weapon’s panel can stack easily. Its passive boosts attack upon activation and lasts for 14 seconds, allowing Anke’s ultimate to be fully powered throughout. The downside is that it only boosts attack after using the ultimate, which many players dislike during exploration when they prefer not to activate the ultimate, rendering the weapon’s passive useless.

Fantasy Variation (Four-star gacha weapon)
Difficulty of acquisition: Low

This season’s featured four-star weapon (available in the character pool and permanent pool) has stats and a passive that increase resonance efficiency, allowing Anke to use her ultimate more frequently, indirectly boosting damage. Additionally, after obtaining other weapons, this weapon can be used for support, saving resources.

Downside: Lacks direct damage increase functionality, being as effective as a one-star weapon when the ultimate is not activated.

Lucent Harbinger (Three-star forgeable weapon)
Difficulty of acquisition: Extremely low

This weapon can only be obtained through forging, but it requires very few resources and is easy to refine to Rank 5, with stats and effects resembling a mini version of a permanent five-star weapon.

Downside: The weapon is unlikely to be used in the late game, wasting resources.

Other weapons not mentioned are not recommended.

Melting Recommendations

Crimson Witch of Flames five-piece set (43311)
(One 4-cost, two 3-cost, two 1-cost)

For the 4-cost, choose Crimson of the Flames without hesitation.

In the early game, prioritize crit rate as the main stat for the main attribute. Once other pieces have high crit rate sub-stats, you can switch to crit damage.

For the two 3-cost pieces, it’s recommended to have both with Melting bonuses. If there are good attack sub-stats, those can be used as well.

For the two 1-cost pieces, just pay attention to the sub-stats.

You can also transition with 44111 (Melting, Attack 2+2).

Evaluation of sub-stat effectiveness:

Double crit (Great, no need for further explanation)

Basic attack bonus (Still good)

Resonance efficiency / Resonance Liberation damage increase / Attack Power (Useful, but not as much)

HP / Defense (… No need for further explanation)

Team Composition Suggestions

Note: Due to limitations in the author’s skill level, only a general idea is shared here. For detailed operations, please refer to other expert videos or posts.

Anke + Sanae + Verena / Baizhi (High output)
Common switching sequence: Verena → Sanae → Anke

Verena’s exit skill can increase the team’s damage, while Sanae’s exit skill can increase the next teammate’s basic attack damage. This switching sequence can maximize Anke’s damage potential. However, Verena’s exit skill’s healing effect only affects the next character, so when Anke’s condition is not good, attention should be paid to changing the switching sequence.

Since there are no support characters with Melting damage increase yet, Sanae is currently the most compatible damage-increasing support for Anke.

Anke + Taoqi + Verena / Baizhi (Strong survivability)
Common switching sequence: Verena → Taoqi → Anke

Taoqi can provide increased damage for the next character’s E skill and provide a shield for the whole team. Although the damage is lower than the Sanae team, the survivability is stronger.
