Manor Lords: Beginner Tips
  1. Make sure not to build your farm too large; harvesting 600 wheat at a time is just right. In the game, one unit of wheat is equivalent to 20 loaves of bread, which is completely sufficient. If the farm is too large, it will be very slow to harvest. If you don’t finish harvesting, the wheat won’t be threshed. Without threshing, you can’t grind flour. In one game, I had 1.5k wheat that wasn’t fully harvested by the second summer. The farmers watched as the barns were full of wheat and they starved to death because there was too much wheat. If the farm is too big and can’t thresh in time, it will be sent to the granary. Once the wheat is in the granary, it will start rooting and won’t be taken out, taking up space in the granary and preventing bread production unless you manually sell them one by one.
  2. Buy cows early. In the game, cows are responsible for transporting wood. Having only one cow will not only slow down transportation but also significantly impact the operation of the lumber mill. If there is wood on the mountain and the villagers can’t transport it, they will stop cutting trees no matter how many workers you assign.
  3. If you need to readjust the location of the silo and warehouse due to early placement errors, make sure to first unassign the workers. Wait until they return with the cart before destroying the building; otherwise, they will remain idle in place. Leave a small cart in the original spot, as canceling it may disrupt the visual appeal.
  4. Avoid using wandering traders. AI traders may not always buy goods, but they eventually do. However, if you use wandering traders, they will stop buying goods. Each wandering trader sells one unit at a time, resulting in very slow income.
