Dragon’s Dogma 2: Magic Swordsman’s strengths and weaknesses, gameplay, skill combinations, recommended allies, and equipment selection

Magic Swordsman
Occupational Advantages: Extremely strong mobility, excellent three-dimensional displacement ability, presence of seal magic bullets with extremely strong field control capability, comprehensive attack ability in both physical and magical aspects, and the rebounding magical clothing has once made this occupation known as the “wheelchair occupation.”
Occupational Disadvantages: Due to the design of the consumption of stamina during the period of frenzied gnawing, and the setting that the stamina bar stops recovering during the charged magic bullet period, the occupational stamina consumption is very serious. Although there is a strong aerial ascent ability, the lack of aerial chaining attacks makes it heavily dependent on landing points (upper back) to release skills.

Gameplay: The core of the magic swordsman is still the magic bullet. The magic bullet not only has its own functionality but also the charged magic bullet can cancel most of the magic swordsman’s own skills, which is the core of the magic swordsman’s gameplay. For example, after the Sky Dragon ascends, releasing the charged magic bullet can cancel the second stage underthrust or aerial lunging of the Sky Dragon, and the regular attack linkage spiral spear can also be canceled by the charged magic bullet. The aftershake of the aerial lunging and Sky Dragon’s attacks on the enemy can also be canceled by the magic bullet. Here, it is worth mentioning that after the Sky Dragon ascends, canceling with the magic bullet can allow for another ascension with the Sky Dragon, but due to my slow reaction speed, I often struggle to cancel the second stage. To deal with most enemies, the magic swordsman mainly relies on quickly knocking down opponents and then dealing explosive damage through frenzied gnawing and execution.

Tactics Against Some Enemies: Giants, ogres, and minotaurs can be controlled using seal magic bullets while utilizing spiral spears and frenzied gnawing for output. After tilting the enemies, charging and shooting magic spears can knock them directly to the ground, where you can follow up with frenzied gnawing and execution. Griffins and chimeras can be engaged using teleportation or Sky Dragon followed by Aerial Lunging on the upper back to output damage. Be sure to quickly use seal magic bullets for control after landing on the upper back; otherwise, the monsters may move erratically and throw you off. After knocking them down, execute with a burst of damage. Elite miscellaneous troops like basilisks and armored goblins can be dealt with using Aerial Lunging followed by Sky Dragon and canceling with magic bullets followed by a shakeoff and immediate execution. Petrifying lizards can be knocked down using magic spear launch to prevent blade strikes or sword energy from Draconian Slash, followed by an execution. When facing dragons, control with seal magic bullets and perform frenzied gnawing directly beneath the body, noting that the initiation of frenzied gnawing will dash forward about two to three body lengths. Do not press your face directly against weak spots when attacking to avoid piercing through enemies easily. After the dragon takes off, control with seal magic bullets, connect with a magic spear, and bring it down. If there is black smoke around the dragon after takeoff, it indicates that the dragon is preparing to crash down. It is recommended to either run away with aerial lunging or activate the divine cloth. When the dragon appears tilted, chase with a magic spear launch to knock it directly to the ground and then follow up with a two-hit combo. If the dragon is still alive, utilize the time it takes for the dragon to rise again to charge a magic spear for an additional strike.
