Dragon’s Dogma 2: Is Thief the Strongest Class? Can Mystic Knight Rank Second?
How to evaluate the strength of a profession? It is all about survival efficiency, output efficiency, and difficulty. Here the difficulty includes the cost of operational practice and obtaining key builds. From these perspectives, in Dragon’s Dogma 2, the Thief is undoubtedly the strongest class, without question.

- Lowest difficulty in obtaining builds: Master skills can be obtained by just running maps, and no missions are needed. Compared to the Master skills for Warriors that require leg-breaking runs and for Magic Archers that need to go to the volcanic island.
- Strongest survival capability: Once Mirror is activated, apart from falling off a cliff or drowning, no damage can touch me, and it can be toggled on and off at any time, extremely comfortable. Moreover, there is an evasive ability with no stamina consumption, unique to this class.
- Strong at clearing small enemies: Under normal circumstances, no small enemy can withstand a Mirror explosion, and once activated, there is no need to worry about being randomly comboed by small enemies. Against aerial enemies, you can bring a grappling hook to easily take down the Harpies, the lifelong enemy of Warriors; against ghosts, the self-buff with Flame Enchant makes physical-based classes ineffective against ghosts. It can be seen that Thieves can easily handle all small enemies.
- Strong at boss fights: With high burst damage, it’s easy to hit weak points using Daggerist’s stance, making any boss fight stress-free (unless the boss keeps flying around). In conclusion, it can be seen that in terms of survival, Thieves lead the way, they are the top in clearing small enemies, and are among the top in boss fights (second only to the Magic Archer). With the lowest build difficulty, Thieves are the strongest class in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Additionally, exploring the open world as a Thief is very enjoyable, with super jumps and the ability to steal items. In the Bitterblack Isle world, after defeating a Dragon with a fellow Thief, I managed to steal over a hundred Dragon Crystals.

I believe Mystic Knight should rank second. Because the Mystic Knight is slightly behind the Thief in all aspects you mentioned.
- The build difficulty is a bit higher, it’s not as straightforward to kill Dragons with the Master skill, but the Master skill is not a core skill, so it doesn’t have a significant impact.
- Let’s not talk about strong survival capabilities, even invincible in groups.
- Strong at clearing small enemies and Lizards. Easily causing chaos among small enemies, and instantly teleporting and executing lizards. Can immobilize and instantly kill bird creatures in the air, or use flying attacks. Possibly the best close-range anti-air combatant.
- Easily target weak points on bosses. Essentially, you can perform instant kills even on dragons that continuously fly. Refer to the image below. In summary, if Thieves are first, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to rank Mystic Knights second.
